Debenham's is a British womens' clothing line that released a groundbreaking catalog. It featured women of all shapes, sizes, ages, and types in their summer 2013 wear. Their target is not just women in the normal limited sense (thin, white, and young) but all women from all walks of life.
The usage of differently abled bodies, fuller figured bodies, different colored bodies, different aged bodies are so refreshing that it is almost shocking. I believe Debenham's does all of its advertising inhouse. When you see things like this it makes it even more obvious how absurd the limited representation of beauty is in advertisement. The company is known for other groundbreaking retail efforts. The most recent thing is combining the boys and girls toy section in efforts to eliminate gender separation.
