Ad Analysis: Can you Name 7 Kinds of Berries

So, I don't have a photo for this one.

As I was driving down Austin's Eastside on night, I came upon a bright pink billboard that asked "Can you Name 7 Kinds of Berries?"

Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Blackberry...I started to draw blanks. So I asked my husband, he just barely made it to 7 after trying to pass "Mayberry" and "Frankenberry" as fruit. I then called my parents and tested them. Because we were driving, I didn't have a chance to catch the name of the organization who the billboard was for, but I didn't need to to get the ultimate message.
It is common knowledge that the nutrition of Americans is terrible. So terrible that people don't even realize how much they are lacking whole fresh fruits and vegetables. When some people do finally eat a vegetable or fruit, it is either processed beyond recognition, or is limited to a select few items that they are well acquainted with. For example, I know people who eat corn with every meal as a vegetable. The only green thing that would creep on their plate would be some sort of greens, green bean, or peas. Thats about it.
Like all good ads, this billboard was simple and effective. I wasn't so occupied with reading it that I risked running off of the road, and it translated a simple theme that is memorable: If you are having trouble naming 7 berries, maybe you need to step your fruit game up. It made me want to go to the grocery store and study the produce section, which I kind of did when I went grocery shopping the next day.

This billboard was a refreshing sight amidst the personal injury lawyer and liquor ads.
